"The Ode To" Fall news

The Ode To means tribute - our tribute is to great artistry and design, and not the least to female artistry. We mainly work with female creatives to counterweight the imbalance that exists also within the design and art world. Women are overrepresented as the humans that study, make and buy art, and yet they're underrepresented among those that are heard, awarded and paid more. We always choose to work with creatives whose artistry we admire, both male and female, but we will also work harder to give women a platform for their creativity. Not a bad thing ;) - Helena and Anna -

Oh how did I fall in love with the beautiful artworks designed by different female artists when I visited their site for the first time Spring 2018. Recently Helena Carlberg and Anna Lukins, founders of “The Ode To”, shared their latest artworks, sculptures and originals of their collection and once again they inspired me with their new press images made by Mikael Lundblad.

In an earlier post about The ode To (here) I already wrote about my admiration for the work of sculptures of Kristiina Haataja. Besides the large Knot (created by Tove Tenga) with the pinstripes in this new collection, I’m a huge admirer of the sculptures in the series ‘Air’ by Paula Martinsson which are a visualisation and soft formation around the air enclosed into the artwork. I was already familiar with her earlier work through instagram but it’s so nice that we can admire and buy her artworks more easily now.

The Ode To is an online gallery and an effortless way of discovering contemporary art by emerging artists. They carefully collect and create limited and one-of-a-kind artworks for reasonable prices, so that you can get something truly special that only few others have. An amazing concept in my opinion and acknowledged by Plaza interior magazine because the ladies are awarded Entrepreneurs of the Year! What is your favorite artwork from the new arrivals? - Elvera -
