With the summer vacation ahead, it’s always inspiring to admire the first press images of the Autumn collections in your mailbox don’t you think so?

As I mentioned before, during 3 Days of Design MENU’s creative space and headquarters have relocated to The Audo – a collaborative, hybrid space that fuses coworking and event facilities with a café, restaurant and retail area,as well as an exclusive hotel residence. Here the philosophy is equally simple: to connect like-minded individuals through meaningful environments showcased in unconventional ways.

To make sure their portfolio continues to anticipate needs and offer useful, beautiful solutions, Menu partners with contemporary talents in their native Scandinavia and around the world. At the same time, their collection is also growing to include more legacy designers: masters whose work has stood the test of time and serves as a reminder of what it means to be a modern classic.

In addition to renewed products as the harbour lounge chair, the plinth series in Calacatta Viola, the Co lounge chair, the Nimbus mirror or the beautiful Aer Vase, I was attracted immediately by the Gravel Rug that will be available autumn 2019

“Looking to nature and its endless offerings, the Gravel Rug, designed by talented Nina Bruun, represents the values that make a house a home: warm, welcoming and comfortable. Crafted with care from natural wool fibres, up close its soft loops – alternating in size – evoke the feeling of walking on a pebbled beach, but from far away the surface of the rug appears to ripple like a cornfield swaying with the wind. The tactile surface is achieved using a technique whereby tonal wool yarns of varying sizes are looped into tufts. The natural material softens the rug’s overall expression, which will work in any context, from private homes to public spaces”.
