Skagerak at Elvera's home

Working with beautiful design is always a pleasure and the Skagerak pieces are among our absolute favorites. This time we played around with the Cutter stool from Skagerak's Cutter collection. The elegant oak stool (also available in stained oak and teak) can be used throughout the home as a stool, side table and additionally as a space-saving storing unit for shoes, hats, toys etc. when adding the Cutter boxes. These items combined with the Cutter wardrobes and racks make wonderful entryway options.

The first item from Skagerak’s Cutter collection, the Cutter bench, was originally designed by Danish furniture Designer Niels Hvass for an exhibition called “Walk the Plank” in 1999. Inspired by the Bauhaus movement's use of continuous metal pipes, the idea of a slatted seat on a coherent frame came into life.

We loved using the Cutter Stool as a side table in the living room of Elvera. It makes a perfect platform for tea sipping on the sofa from the beautiful Edge series also from Skagerak. Functioning as a side table, the wooden stool also looked great as a base for our glass vase with branches that are slowly getting us ready for the holiday season.

In addition to the styling and usage of the stool in this context, we are excited to show you the new images we are working on as it shows the versatility of this great piece from Skagerak.
