MENU Autumn/Winter 2018 novelties
If you follow our instagram accounts you might have seen that we’ve all returned from our vacation destinations and relaxing days out where we have recharged ourselves and got fresh energy to get started with new projects and other fun things after a great break. We hope you all have enjoyed this wonderful Summer.
While I loved being away, enjoying the huge waves at the beaches of the French Alantic Coast, the beautiful nature of the Pyrenees and spending lots of quality time with my family, I really love coming home after a good holiday, especially this time of the year, when all the brands spread their AW2018 news!
Last week MENU has launched new images for the AW18 news and their catalogue - Connected spaces - and this week I've received the paper version of it and I just could not keep my eyes off. The stories behind and the beautiful images inspired me so much! The warm atmosphere and the rough eyecatching details in the home of Danielle Siggerud (where the images where shot) give the images a very special feeling!
Copenhagen-based designer and architect Danielle Siggerud designed the Androgyne Side Table for MENU, her first foray into product design. The Androgyne Side Table was originally developed as a café table they designed for the MENU Space Café, which needed a contemporary and versatile table. The intention was to create a simple silhouette, characterised by the pure use of material coupled with a clear, refined composition of one solid and one soft line. A balance of both masculine and feminine strengths. It’s androgynous: the symbol of a whole and the definition of original harmony in Greek mythology. The idea behind the design fits perfectly with what MENU stands for, their simple purpose: to make the world more beautiful, less complicated, and a little bit nicer to wake up to
Besides the Androgyn table and the relaunch of the Knitting Chair (first created by architect and furniture designer Ib Kofod-Larsen in the 1950s) you will find many well-known products in new varietes, created by the use of new materials, fabrics and colors, at the AW2018 collection.
