Mono-eating
This project by Aimee Jiline is something we have wanted to show for a long time because it makes us proud to share it with you. A few years ago she did an internship with us and her amazing talent was something that was clear from the very first moment. Eventually she started studying at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam and developed her talent even more.
Mono-Eating is the graduation project of Aimee and something that should be shared with all of you.
“How can design make people eat more conscious in a time when most people are often distracted and in a rush? Mono-eating focusses on unconscious eating behavior in a fast and multitasking society. Research shows that unconscious behavior, or automated behavior develops itself after repeating a certain action.
Mono-eating breaks this repetitive behavior using tools which continuously change its shape. Thanks to the constant movement of the tools, the user is required to pay full attention, which leads to a complete focus of the ‘eating’. “
The video created for this project shows in a perfect and aesthetic way the concept and thoughts behind this project. Congratulations Aimee for your amazing work and hope to see more of your talent in the future.
