A craftsmanship masterpiece

The PK15 chair is the last creation of Danish architect and designer Poul Kjærholm. Designed in 1979, it stands as a testament to Kjærholm's unwavering commitment to innovation and craftsmanship. Departing from his primary material of steel, the PK15 chair is a fusion of steam-bent ash and wicker, showcasing his fascination with natural elements.

Crafted from a single piece of solid wood, the chair's backrest gracefully transitions into the straight front legs. Another piece of wood forms the inner arch of the backrest and back legs, while a wicker seat adds structure and transparency.

The chair's production process challenges steam bending to its limits, resulting in a deceptively simple yet technically demanding design. Available in natural or black ash, the PK15 chair pays homage to Kjærholm's legacy and reflects Fritz Hansen's dedication to perfecting challenging techniques.
