Expressions of Character by Fritz Hansen
As I mentioned in a previous post, I couldn't be at the 3 days of design event this year. Fortunately, a lot was shared on the socials and one of the exhibitions that really appealed to me was the one of Fritz Hansen - Expressions of Character at the iconic Charlottenborg building (home of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts since 1753) in Copenhagen.
Expressions of Character was an exhibition exploring the immutable relationship between art and design. At this year’s 3daysofdesign, Fritz Hansen presented a unique journey through a series of artistic installations of iconic pieces. The installations expose the base elements of design through shapes, materials, colours and light, and took visitors on a journey through iconic and contemporary expressions as never seen before.
Throughout the exhibition, you could encounter the works of visionaries like Poul Kjærholm and Arne Jacobsen together with contemporary designers including Jaime Hayon, Cecilie Manz, and KiBiSi and I think this exhibition was one of the most inspiring ones of the event. Outside, their courtyard invited the visitors to sit and relax in the idyllic Danish summer weather on their beautiful new collection of outdoor furniture.
