Inspired by the minimalist art movement - Stick light by 101 Copenhagen
This week Danish brand 101 Copenhagen has launched their new light collection - The Stick LED light collection and I can really imagine how proud they must be, the collection is stunning!
Influenced by minimalism art, the Stick & Curve collection is all about combining light and sculptures into graphic lighting design. Named after its "Stick" lampshade, each lamp is characterized by an illuminating white acrylic tube. The white acrylic tube holds an inbuilt LED light source, with details of plated metal fittings at each end of the tube. Mounted on simple and geometric metal fixtures, the Stick lamps creates an almost graphic expression. The Stick collection includes a table lamp and a wall lamp. Every lamp comes with an inbuilt LED light source. The lights are designed by Kristian Sofus Hansen & Tommy Hyldahl (founder and partner NORR11 & 101 Copenhagen) and a great inspiring part of the SS23 collection if you ask me - Elvera
A LED lamp is a type of energy-efficient lighting that uses light-emitting diodes (LEDs) to produce light. LED lamps are typically much more efficient than traditional incandescent or fluorescent bulbs, and they can last up to 25 times longer. They also emit less heat and use less electricity, making them more cost-effective over time. One significant difference between LED lamps and traditional light fixtures is that you cannot change the LED bulb. Unlike incandescent bulbs, which are designed to be easily replaced, LED bulbs are integrated into the lamp's design. Therefore, if the LED bulb fails or reaches the end of its lifespan, you will need to replace the entire LED lamp. However, since LED bulbs can last up to 50,000 hours, you are unlikely to need to replace the LED lamp frequently - 101 Copenhagen
