The Pier system from Hay

The Pier system from Hay is a design by the French Duo Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec. They designed a shelving system that is functional, elegent, down-to-earth and easy to assemble. The Pier system can be easily changed into another purpose of use, this is one of the reasons that the shelving system is a long lasting system and durable. Every Pier system is made from aluminium and steel and is available in different colourways. The system has a hidden wall- mount that gives a lightness to the silhoutte.

Inspiration for the system came from a friend that has a old smoking room, the room has an immense wall coverd with books, music and ceramics. They founded the composition really wonderfull and got inspiration from that wall. The brothers note also a set-up in an old woodworking studio, where there are tools assembles along the wall as a contributing studio.

Hay is a danish brand that is founded in 2002 by Rolf and Mette Hay. Since than the brand has expanded them self as a populair design brand in the design world. The brand gets a lot of inspiration from Danish furniture from the 50s and the 60s. Hay has a lot of collaborations with new and established designers and offers collections that are durable and with high quality with affordable prices.
