Swedish One-Room B&B TypeO Loft
Ready to travel again? When you see this Swedish B&B you will get excited right away..
Last summer, Swedish interior decor webshop TypeO, run by Micha van Dinther and Magnus Wittbjer, introduced a different kind of hospitality experience geared towards the ‘new normal’ in travel. The 50 sq m bed and breakfast is a one-room slow living concept, consisting of an open plan studio apartment featuring a living area, a kitchen, a bedroom and an ensuite bathroom. TypeO Loft is designed with maximum comfort, relaxation and seclusion in mind.
”We have experienced a big demand for unorthodox and design-strong hospitality experiences, paired with the need to enjoy them safely and securely. Last summer’s booking requests were so many that we had to set up a waiting list,” says Wittbjer.
This summer, TypeO Loft hopes to be able to welcome its first foreign travellers alongside Swedish guests, to enjoy an improved version of TypeO Loft. The raised terrace has been developed into a more usable alfresco space and acts as an extension of the indoors, with bespoke lounge furniture for those long and lazy summer evenings. Garden designer Anders Mårtensson has chosen plants for the space that thrive in the local climate and act as complementing features to the landscape beyond.
In TypeO Loft, guests will find a new selection of curated details from Swedish artists, designers and brands. The kitchen is equipped with glasses and ceramic cups by designer Sizar Alexis, as well as handmade kitchen textiles and tools from Iris Hantverk. ’Oivi’, a textural artwork from Ida Wikfors, has been hung on the bedroom wall. Organic skincare products by Swedish brand OM-SE and biotech-based garment cleaning products by Pure Effect can all be used by guests free of charge throughout their stay.
Most items and products found at TypeO Loft are provided by the eponymous webshop and can be purchased on-site and brought home immediately, should guests find treasures that they cannot live without.
