Paradisal simplicity - Casa Cook
I don't know about you, but when I hear the people around me, many of them already found a nice holiday destination or are busy looking for a nice place to spend their vacation. We have already found a nice place for this Summer but when I saw the images of the amazing new Thomas Cook boutique hotel “Casa Cook” a few weeks ago I was attracted immediately!
The newest addition (the 4th hotel) of this organisation is a warm minimalist dream at Chania and looks so stunning! Each of the Casa Cook hotels is a passion project; they fit seamlessly together, but are never the same. At Casa Cook they definitely find inspiration in the surrounding landscapes as much as the local culture and they want to inspire with architecture and design that feels both cosmopolitan and down-to-earth. Set against an enchanting backdrop of deep Mediterranean blues, sandy stretches of beach and an ancient Venetian port on Crete´s north-western coast this is the perfect hideaway don’t you think so?
The 102-room family friendly resort designed by K/studio architects is all sharp angles, encased in beautiful grey stones and concrete, the edges visually softened by thick Mediterranean and tropical plantings. The interiors decorated by Berlin-based studio Lambs and Lions subtly contrast with the brand’s predilection for a midcentury vibe with natural earth tones, rugged stone walls cut with narrow apertures for light, and handmade cane furniture to create a warm atmoshpere.
Beautiful paradisal simplicity and a perfect place to make memories and be charmed by the culture and character of Cretan traditions if you ask me.. . Have you already found a holiday destination or are you staying at home this Summer? - Elvera -
