On early rainy mornings I love strolling through internet and discover the latest news and press releases from brands in my mailbox. Today I was enormously inspired by the news from Ikea about their new collection ‘Hantverk’, that will be available as a limited edition collection from mid October.

The Hantverk collection is a collaboration between Ikea and five social companies in India, Thailand, Jordan and Romania, where everyone has contributed to their unique mark on each item. Iina Vuorivirta and Mikael Axelsson have designed the collection in close collaboration with the craftsmen. In this collection you’ll find interior accessories with a Scandinavian expression like handmade baskets, vases and textiles made from sustainable materials as banana fibres, handmade paper ceramics and cotton from more sustainable sources and made by using local materials and the knowlegde of the craftsmen about techniques and material properties. You can read and admire more of this beautiful collection here - Elvera -
