These last few years it almost has become a tradition for us to visit one of the largest fairs in the field of furniture and interior design: IMM Cologne . During this fair, the newest collections are launched but unfortunately this year we were not able to join. So when I saw the new pressimages of Swedish brand String furniture in our mailbox I immediately thought about our previous press visits of their always amazing stand at IMM.

We've shared news and images about the String furniture collections in several previous posts (here) and when we admired the beautiful Spring news studio images photographed by Marcus Lawett, we were inspired again by the original and creative styling work and the used stylish props by Lotta Agaton and her team.

This year the furniture company exists 70 years and to celebrate this fact they’ve released a new color into the String System and into String Pocket and a new set for outdoor use - String Outdoor witch is designed together with stylist and String advisor Lotta Agaton Interiors. For Spring 2019, a new color - beige - is offered in the modular and popular String System and for the String Pocket a warm pink color, called blush .

For String furniture It all started with a revelation and a competition. in 1949, the leading Swedish publishing house Bonniers realised that people would likely buy more books if they had somewhere to put them. With this in mind, Bonniers launched a competition calling for a shelving solution that was affordable, easy to ship, easy assemble and easy to install. Nils and Kajsa Strinning entered and won the competition with their ingenious solution: a flexible, elegant and minimalist shelving system that could be mounted on any wall. and voilà: string was born. The design met with immediate success and Nils Strinning rose to fame as one of the most influential designers of the scandinavian modern era .

So yes, as I mentioned above, this year String furniture finally took a step outside and now you can furnish your favorite space without being limited by four walls and a ceiling. The galvanized metal can withstand any weather and gives your string a nice rugged look.
