After a few months of maternity leave, I’m slowly getting back to business and I love to tell you about our kitchen renovation.

Before our renovation break, we started to think about the colors, materials en shapes that we wanted to use in our kitchen. Now, we are ready to get started again and our current brain breaker is the color of the floor. In one of my previous posts, I told you about the colors we wanted to use in our kitchen and now time has past, we already changed some of those thoughts.

The floor will be a Marmoleum floor from Forbo. Forbo Marmoleum floors are associated with sustainability, durability, high quality and innovative design. It is made of 97% natural materials, of which 72% is retrievable and 43% is recycled content. Therefore the floor is one of the most environmentally friendly and durable floors which will last a lifetime. Something I can really appreciate. Also the material is antistatic, thus attracts little dust and dirt. This makes Marmoleum an allergy-resistant floor that is easy to maintain. Which is great with our pet-family :) The floor also absorbs warmth from the environment, making it feel comfortable on bare feet. In addition, the floor is well suited for underfloor heating.

What you can see as a positive thing, is that they have many, many colors ( over 300, with 9 different structures! ) to choose from. For me, it became a bit more difficult to choose, especially during my pregnancy. What we thought to be an easy job, ’cause grey it is’ became a very hard decision. Maybe we could go for a color?

Soon we will show you the result of the kitchen ( yes, we changed this a few times as well )  and the floor and I will tell you why and how we decided to do it like this.
